Toys for Tots recognizes Cutting Edge Media for 2010 donations and long-standing commitment to its programs for children
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa., May 20, 2011 - Cutting Edge Media, Inc. was honored as the top corporate donor for 2010 to Toys for Tots in Lancaster County at a dinner this month.
Cutting Edge has a long history of supporting Toys for Tots, a tradition started by the company's founder, Phil Longenecker, who passed away in July of 2009. For years, employees have given big-heartedly and enjoy an annual shopping trip to buy toys with the money they've raised. Cutting Edge encourages their support by offering to match donations.
"Toys for Tots is a great organization and we are really pleased to have been able to help them to achieve so much for local children. It is not just our support, but also the hard work and contributions of our employees and business partners that make it all possible," said Peter Wilson, President and CEO of Cutting Edge.
In 2010, Cutting Edge was the lead sponsor of a successful 5-K charity event that raised thousands of dollars for children's causes, including Toys for Tots. Cutting Edge plans to build on the success of the 5K with additional fundraising efforts in 2011.
"With your help, we were able to make Christmas a little brighter for 11,555 needy children throughout Lancaster County," said Gilbert Bixler, Chairman of Toys for Tots in Lancaster County, in a letter to Cutting Edge. "It's a wonderful feeling to be in a position to help so many children, but then we would not be in this position if it were not for your generous support."
